i think i hold current jws to a higher standard than they now maintain.. here's the thing; my father is very old, in his nineties and been a jdub for over 60 years and even made it to elder till he got too old.on a recent visit my siblings and dad were saying how wonderful that veterans affairs were.
Fool is the one who served, JW or otherwise, and does not claim the benefits.
I served and was discharged honorably; so, I plan to retire early and claim medical benefits until such time that Medicare kicks in, then I shall continue to claim any services not covered by Medicare.

i voted this morning for the first time.
at 32yo i wondered in a church of england parish hall with no idea what i was doing.
everyone else knew how to do it.

I will never be able to shake that. This is one of the many reasons I really cannot fully leave this religious Org. My indoctrination runs so deep that even if I disagree with a few things, there are soooo many more things that I do agree with until my dying day.

for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.
Here is what I was recently told by a few "hardcore/heavy" JWs: "Do not express those comments any longer. Leave it in Jehovah's hands. There are many things and situations we do not understand. This is why the Bible says that his ways are not our ways".

the development team that purchased jehovah’s witnesses watchtower building complex in brooklyn heights last year has now unveiled plans for its transformation into a swanky office and retail destination.. .
panaroma, as this new space will be known, will be spread out over the five buildings here that were previously occupied by the jehovah’s witnesses.
That whole area that used to be occupied by JWs is now awful looking, run down, dirty streets/sidewalks, trashy, and lots of shady looking characters lurking about. We were visiting that entire area recently.
The group which kept it all clean, beautiful and peaceful are gone baby!
The WTBTS teaches us to care for our places of worship and our property; results show it. Surely a nice feather in their cap.

a very recent video of them shows them calling him a 'village idiot' and making other disparaging claims.
This couple does not seem well to me. Vindictive, divisive, cynical, disingenuous. No longer watch their stuff.

according to jehovahs witness beliefs/doctrines , dont they acknowledge that the international bible students association , ibsa , were the ones with charles taze russell as the president as being the organization that jesus christ appointed over all his belongings and nominated them as the one true religion to dispense food at the proper time ?.
when joseph f rutherford took over the organization contrary to charles taze russells instructions regarding a successor did that negate the appointment that jesus christ gave ?
i think so .how about you.. and then changing the name that jesus christ gave his blessing to the ibsa for jehovahs witnesses under j.f.rutherford to change that name which was pre-christian and has no basis in the new testament which is all about witnessing acknowledgeing and highlighting the name of jesus above every other name as is stated time and time again in the christian greek scriptures,.
According to today's Daily Text, definitely JWs aren't the exclusive selection of God. He accepts ALL that aspire to do his will.
There are many instances of people in the Bible who were not Israelites or Christians who had God's favor and blessings.
We JWs just like to think foolishly that we are unique, but the fact that the Bible states that after Armageddon there will be a large of quantity of survivors that no man can count only means that God favors us ALL.
Awakened JWs know this. Many of the 'Awakened' class inside the Org these days.

i am the husband of the new poster finally left.
we both recently left, my wife after 43 years and 46 years for me.
The Internet is doing the job beautifully. No need to waste more time and resources.

i left the religion back in the early 2000's, tell you the truth it's been so long now i've been out i don't remember exactly when i left.
i definitely used this site a lot when i first left and it was a great asset.
when i left i somehow managed to get my parents to come with me.
They are not authoritative or controlling as much as they were in the 70s-2005ish, but the guilt trips on doing as much as possible for "the kingdom" are alive and well.

had lunch with some friends during today's waste of time convention.
they spoke of the rumor floating around that the jws will move away from these big regional conventions and have them at assembly halls and tie them in to kingdom halls.. they seemed to believe it was a pretty reliable source.. i think it would be too good to be true but who knows?.
anyone else heard this rumor?.
Conventions are nothing more than big money makers. Although I would love to see the Friday dropped from the RC, these big gatherings will always exist.
